Sweet Agape

Agape is an ancient Greek word referring to unconditional love and the name I chose for my first small business endeavor .

I partnered with a University of Portland classmate whose family owned a nursery. With her connections into local farms, markets and nurseries, and my creativity, years of experimentation and vision, we were able to create a profitable product that sold well, but was expensive and labor intensive to make.

The partnership ended largely due to a lack of enthusiasm for the project and not the project’s potential, as well as an acknowledgement that further growth would need far more significant time than was possible
